Hello lovely people! I have just given myself a heart attack by realizing it’s May 28th. Where has the year gone? How is it almost June? Anyway, ignore me freaking out. Today I’m going to be catching up on some tags and awards that I’ve been meaning to get to for a long time. Hope you enjoy!
Books As First Dates Tag
This tag was created by Alice @ Love For Words, I was tagged by the lovely Jan from The Doodlecrafter. They both have amazing blogs and I definitely recommend you check them out! (also please ignore my lack of going on dates so I will just pretend I now what I’m doing)

First and last: a book/series you’ve read and enjoyed but can’t bring yourself to read again
See, I did enjoy this series and thought it was quite well done. But I also found it somewhat hard to get through so I don’t think I’ll be re-reading it.
With a friend of mine: a book/series someone recommended to you that turned out to be different from what you expected
I was actually gifted this book by a dear friend of mine whose a big romance lover. As I wasn’t at the time, I really wasn’t sure what to think, but I think this book was a huge Segway into the world of YA romance.
Double date: a book who’s sequel you immediately had to read
I can’t think of a good answer to this, because I tend to finish a book, get distracted by ten others, and then read the sequel.
Let’s go to the movies: A book series that should be adapted to the screen
I’m going to go with SLAY for this prompt. I think it would be so cool to see how they would create the visuals for Kiera’s game. Speaking of adaptations, I just finished Shadow And Bone and need a season two.
Dreamy stargazing: a book that made you go ‘ahhh’ and ‘ohhh’
The first book that I thought of for this prompt was In Real Life because the art is so gorgeous! Although I wasn’t huge on the plot, just read this to admire the artistry.
Fun at the fair: a book full of colours
I’mm going to take this prompt quite literally, as the main character is an artist, but even in the writing this book is very colourful.
Amusement park adventure: A book that was a rollercoaster
I had to sit unmoving for a good hour after finishing this book (because I was terrified, sad, in awe, and happy all at once).
Picnic with Cherries: a book whose food description made you feel all *heart eyes*
With The Fire On High is the perfect answer to this prompt. This book left me starving and ready to cook some of Emoni’s recipes.
Trip to the museum: a book that taught you valuable stuff
These two books, The Hate U Give and Amina’s Voice are two books I think everyone should read. They taught me a lot of very important things.

1: Who is your all-time favourite book character?
Way to start off with a question I can’t answer! As a hugely indecisive person, here’s my list 😂: Brianna from On The Come Up, Jesper from Six Of Crows, Charlotte from A Study In Charlotte, and Prince Henry from Red White And Royal Blue. Whew that was a lot.
2. If you were stranded on a desert island, which book would you take with you? (Survival books do not count)
Ooh good question! I would probably be smart about this, taking a book that’s not a survival book but has survival “tips” in it (does this count?). My Side Of The Mountain it is.
3. What’s your most unpopular book opinion?
This is going to sound weird, but I think it’s that I don’t really have one. I don’t mind friends to lovers or enemies to lovers as long as it’s written well. As long as an author isn’t problematic I’ll give any book a try. Although love triangles aren’t really my thing, but I’ll still read it. 🤷🏼♀️
4. What’s your weirdest bookish habit?
Aah I totally agree with what Samantha said in her answer. I often flip to the end of a book and read the last sentence (and usually end up spoiling the entire book for myself by *accidentally* seeing things I shouldn’t).
5. What character would you bring to a family event as your fake partner?
Aha this is a fantastic question! I am not actually out to my extended family yet, so I would probably bring a extra fake partner (in which I would 100% bring Mateo Torrez from They Both Die At The End). If I was out to my extended family I would probably bring Nishat from The Henna Wars or Alina from Shadow and Bone (I wasn’t huge on her in the books but Jessie Mei Li is so pretty and did an amazing job).
6. What made you decide to start a book blog?
Hmm, well, I started a blog (which has now been deleted) with a couple of friends and I kind of fell in love with blogging. I’ve always been obsessed with books and when I started to explore the blogosphere and found gorgeous book blogs, I knew I wanted to do that.
7. What about reading and books do you love the most?
So. Many. Things. I think the biggest one would be the part of me that can imagine myself in them. I’m still not over the fact that I probably won’t go to a faerie world, magic school, or discover an ancient mystery and solve it. So books are somewhat of a form of escapism I guess.
8. What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?
I am still in school but I would absolutely adore to become a screenwriter. And if all goes well, hopefully write a book or two on the side. *not me having planned out my entire life*
9. What are some book recommendations that became your favourites/obsessions?
Ooh so many! I love getting recommendations from friends and other bloggers. I’m going to go with The Black Kids (so amazing), Red White And Royal Blue (you may have noticed I won’t shut up about it) and Yesterday Is History (look it up!).
10. What is the book you shove down everyone’s throat?
See above, all of those books I shove down peoples throats (bur also wouldn’t put a dent in because they are amazing).
